Illustration: D.R. 2006 Latuff After a six-hour siege on the Benito Juarez Autonomous University, which is the home Radio Universidad, voice of the APPO, the Federal Preventative Police was forced to retreat just moments ago. As helicopters, tanks, and scores of armed federal police approached the University campus, "la doctora," the now famous host of radio APPO, urged the citizens of Oaxaca to rush to the scene to aid in the defense of the campus and particularly, of the radio station. Scores of neighbors and students reportedly surround the PFP troops. Simultaneously, APPO supporters in Mexico City marched from the hunger strikers' encampment near the Senate to the offices of the PFP to demand a retreat from the campus.

Es el centro ceremonial más importante de la Cultura Zapoteca y se encuentra ubicado a 9 kilómetros de la ciudad de Oaxaca. Fue construido por habitantes de aldeas del valle de Oaxaca. Después fue ocupada por los Mixtecos hasta que llegaron los españoles. Esta ubicada sobre una inmensa e impresionante explanada se extienden los templos, patios, piramides, y alrededor de 170 tumbas. Disfruténlo!! ~~~ Montealbán is a large pre-Columbian center of Zapotec and Mixtec culture, located in what is now Oaxaca state, Mexico. It contains great plazas, truncated pyramids, a court for playing the ball game tlachtli, underground passageways, and about 170 tombs, the most elaborate yet uncovered in the Americas. It's located approximately 5.6 mi east of Oaxaca City. The name "Monte Albán" means "White Mountain" in Spanish; its name in the Zapotec language was Danipaguache, meaning "Sacred Mountain of Life".
