The spoken part of rap is basically rhythm, like drums, but most rap songs have a melody in the background. Exactly my point. While rap can very well be and certainly often is art, it is not music. No matter how hard to make or valueable in a commercial or cultural sense Rap is, it does not fall into the definition of music. On a sidenote, there is a huge load of crap in the rock and metal genres, too. But the amount of crap in a specific branch of art realy has nothing to do with the fact that it can or cannot be defined as music.at 23:34:43
